Smith Keeps Place in Tractor Boys Victory

Tommy Smith was the only victorious British Kiwi playing another cool hand in maintaining Ipswich's unbeaten start. Keane's men won away at Palace 2-1 in what was an emotional day for the home side in their first match since coming out of administration.

Smith has started the season in terrific form and has looked every inch a Championship regular. There have been whispers that he will be "injured" for the home internationals next month no matter what the situation which would be a shame for us. But his form has marked him out as the future of the All Whites back line, and while he qualifies as a home grown for the Premiership he may find the spotlight falling on him sooner rather than later.
